Ethiopia to host World Tourism Forum
On 16th August, Ambassador Fesseha met with the President of the World Tourism Forum, Bulut Bağcı, following his recent trip to Ethiopia where he held meetings with various stakeholders including the Mayor of Addis Ababa city, Engineer Takele Uma.
Briefing the Ambassador about his visit, Mr Bağcı said that the 2020 World Tourism Forum will be held in Addis Ababa.
Established under Bulut Bağcı’s leadership in 2014, the World Tourism Forum is a global organisation holding tourism events in different parts of the world to further boost global tourism.

…Addis Ababa’s rising profile for global meetings
Ethiopia has, in the past few months, hosted major international meetings, increasing the diplomatic and hospitality profile of its capital Addis Ababa, which is the seat of the African Union and other United Nations offices.
In May, Addis Ababa hosted UNESCO’s World Press Freedom Day, which brought together major stakeholders over a three-day period. Ethiopia will also host the 2020 World Economic Forum on Africa and in June, Addis Ababa was chosen to host the next FIFA Congress in 2020.
