A new waste-to-energy plant is set to transform the Koshe landfill site and revolutionize Addis Ababa's approach to dealing with waste. The plant, which is due to begin operating in January, will incinerate 1,400 tons of waste every day while supplying Addis with 30% of its household electricity needs and meeting European standards on air emissions.

ince 27th October, all refugees in Ethiopia have been able to register their vital life events, including birth, death, marriage and divorce, directly with national authorities. This is an historic first and a ground-breaking development for refugee protection in Ethiopia, not previously realized over decades.

Ethiopia begins civil registration for refugees
UK’s export finance available to Ethiopia has increased to £200 million, to support UK - Ethiopia bilateral trade. Earlier in the year the Government announced that after the UK leaves the European Union, Ethiopian companies will enjoy duty-free access to the British market for all sectors except arms.

UK doubles trade support for Ethiopia
Ethiopian Airlines has been awarded Skytrax 4-Star certification at a special ceremony held in London on November 8, 2017. The Airline now joins the likes of British Airways, Qantas and Emirates as a global 4-star player in the international airline arena.
