Ambassador Hailemichael Aberra Afework, was guest speaker at the launch of the book, Harnessing Nanotechnoloy for Sustainable Development, written by a selection of scholars, with Dr Hailemichael T. Demissie of Gondar University as the lead author. The launch was held at Kings College London, where Dr Demissie was a student.

British company to build $100 million textile, garment factory

British company, Intrade UK Ltd., has signed an agreement to build a $100 million textile and garment factory at Mekelle Industrial Park, creating more than 1,300 new jobs. Similarly, the cornerstone for a $220 million textile plant was laid in Dire Dawa, East Ethiopia on 16th January.

InfraCo Africa increases its commitment to $30m for Ethiopia’s first private geothermal project

InfraCo Africa has signed a Shareholders Agreement with Berkeley Energy, committing $30 million of equity investment to the ground-breaking Corbetti Geothermal project, doubling its original commitment of $15 million. It is anticipated that the power plant will provide first power to Ethiopia’s national grid by early 2020.
