Ethiopian Airlines marks first anniversary with gift of roses to the North

Ethiopian Airlines marked its first anniversary of direct flights from Manchester to Addis Ababa by donating rose bushes and bouquets featuring Ethiopia’s famous flowers, to Tatton Park in Knutsford, Crook Hall and Gardens in Durham and other locations across the North of England including Newby Hall and Gardens near Leeds and Renishaw Hall in Sheffield.

Ethiopia resumes WTO accession negotiations

Ethiopia resumed its World Trade Organization (WTO) membership accession negotiations at the 4th meeting of the Working Party held on 30th January. Mr Mamo Mihretu, chief trade negotiator, led a high-level government delegation in what was the first meeting of the working party in almost eight years.

Embassy hosts Maaza Mengiste’s UK launch of The Shadow King

Ahead of the official publication date, the Embassy hosted the UK launch of acclaimed Ethio-American author, Maaza Mengiste’s second novel, The Shadow King, in the presence of Ambassador Fesseha and guests. Set in 1935 in Ethiopia, the novel explores female power and casts light on the women soldiers.
